The Director – Portrait of Joe Ballarini

The portrait of Joe Ballarini was commissioned in 2006. Joe Ballarini is a writer and a director known for his work on Turbo (DreamWorks Animation), Epic and Ice Age: Continental Drift (Blue Sky Studios) for Fox Animation. He graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts with a minor in Creative Writing. As with most of Gottlieb’s works, the portrait is painted close to life size, so this full length seated portrait took the artist almost 2 months to complete. The portrait traveled to Washington DC to receive a Best of Show award by the Portrait Society of America in 2007.
